Join us for a fascinating journey through time as Edward Barham shares the evolving story of Hole Park, a family estate proudly and lovingly owned by the Barham family since 1911. With a passion for preserving the estate’s legacy, Edward has spent years uncovering its rich history — and collecting rare portraits of its former owners along the way.
In this special talk with unique estate artefacts to enjoy, Edward will share with you portraits, maps, paintings and Estate literature, each with its own story to tell, offering fresh insights into the estate’s past and the people who shaped it. He will also explore the fascinating history of the Rolls-Royce and its century-long ownership by the Barham family.
This spring, the owner of Hole Park’s beautiful private gardens—open daily from April through June—is delighted to offer a very special guided tour. Normally reserved exclusively for visiting groups, this unique walking tour invites individual visitors to join Edward as he personally leads you through the gardens and woodland.
During the tour, Edward will share stories of the estate’s history, the creative influences behind its design, and fascinating insights gathered over more than a century since his GreatGrandfather first began shaping the gardens of Hole Park.
This experience promises not only a chance to admire the seasonal beauty and charm of the grounds, but also an opportunity to appreciate the passion and dedication that have gone into creating them. By early May, the gardens are typically adorned with spectacular displays of wisteria, rhododendron and azalea—providing a stunning backdrop to your visit.
The tour will begin at 11am and will last approximately 90 minutes. Our Coach House tearoom will be open for your enjoyment following the conclusion of the tour and your ticket includes full access to the gardens until 6pm, allowing you to continue exploring at your leisure after the tour.
